... and if you own an Xbox, take a look at the game. A little on the brutal side, but graphically stunning. The game is extremely well scripted and pretty much blows the competition out of the water. Shockingly good for the game of a movie.

Are you afraid?
by UnDisfellowshipped infear not:
1st john 4:18: there is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment.
but he who fears has not been made perfect in love.. 2nd timothy 1:7: for god has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Fear can be a restraint over love - I believe that is true in my own case. If I fear, I hold back.
For instance, to break a barrier between friends sometimes means revealing vulnerability within oneself. So yes, within relationships fear does inhibit a loving expression at times.
That is a basic truth, so in that respect I believe the Bible to be correct.

The Celts in deep thought & just rambles some thoughts
by Celtic indon't mind me, i'm just thinking aloud.
life is a ruddy strange thing.
on the one hand it is so precious and beautiful, on the other it is worthless and the long deepest sleep of death seems so inviting.

The noblest quest, is the quest for truth and that quest through our lives I believe to be unending. It is when a person goes to sleep and does not even attempt to develop fine qualities and wisdom through insight, that alarm bells often ring. In that sleep state I believe we each have cause to feel down about our lives as the void and despair can ache deep within us.
The void you describe, I relate to and I have to stop the "bastard brain" from muttering to itself some days, or even weeks, just to allow myself space to relax again. Even during these times, I know that I will return to questing again and will pick up a book and engage friends in meaningful conversation.
Certain truths are obscured by a cloud and no man is able to reach through and grasp the fullness of this life, accept that and also accept that certain areas of knowledge are deeply subjective in nature.
Some truths are certainly innate and as you hinted, being the best person you can be towards every man is no bad quality to develop. How many do this in reality? Feel special within yourself that you even recognize the need to do so.
- I think we often miss the little things in life, that make life worth living ... I can get so much out of drinking a simple glass of mineral water, as I examine the experience. If I focus upon the small and seemingly inconsequential, often the void diminishes.

The rights of the WTBS vs the rights of those who doubt their claims.
by El blanko ini had an interesting chat(?
) last night with two friends who were involved with the wtbs and active jws.
the one desires to return and the other appears to defend the wtbs, whilst having a very unusual set of beliefs that are tacked onto the jw dogma.

Have you ever noticed your view is completely distorted when you are on the inside of a bubble?
Excellent thought.

I had an interesting chat(?) last night with two friends who were involved with the WTBS and active JWs. The one desires to return and the other appears to defend the WTBS, whilst having a very unusual set of beliefs that are tacked onto the JW dogma. So, both parties are still mentally "down the hall" (so to speak).
What I notice time and time again, is that collectively one comes under attack when daring to prod the society with the "pointy stick of scorn", even when the scorn has certain merit.
I know this is not unusual, as many have expressed the same thoughts here from time to time.
One area we did discuss, which started to ruffle my feathers was the issue of the JW mindset considering itself as an authority on other's faiths and beliefs. Of course, in past times after reading "Mankind's Search For God", I too considered myself an authority of sorts and would happily engage a Muslim say, and believe within myself that I had enough information to shoot his/her faith down in flames.
How arrogant and disrespectful to take this mental approach, that one small book is enough to understand a man's life and that I felt well equipped to rap on his door with an assured indignation to go on the attack based around the WTBS program of learning.
I am not suggesting for a moment that I asborb and believe faith and ideas from every source, but what I assert to the ones who monitor my posts whom I know, is this:
You express collectively a spirit in my considered opinion that runs contrary to the faith that you profess to defend and honour. During our discussions we rarely consider the example of Christ and simply focus upon the name of Jehovah. In my reading of the Gospels the name of Jesus is elevated above and beyond the name of Jehovah and the God who is supposed to be focused upon during this time period by practising Christians is Jesus.
Thank-you for letting me vent.

The Tree of Life, Asherah, and Her Snakes
by Leolaia inthe garden of eden narrative in genesis 2-3 (j) is generally thought to have a mythological background, and its sumerian and akkadian parallels have been widely noted: the resemblence between the tale of adapa and the story of adam and eve's deception regarding the death-dealing fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, the story of adam's creation and life with the animals and the tale of enkidu from the epic of gilgamesh, the edenic blessedness described in the tale of enmerkar, and so forth.
the canaanite and phoenician parallels however are not noted as often -- though these would be more pertinent to the native judean context of the eden narrative.
this post will explore some of these parallels in an attempt to trace the mythological background of the eden story, which is complex and multi-layered.

Printed off for later reading material... thank-you. I'm not sure where this is all leading at the moment, but I have an interest in this area of knowledge. I also have a friend who bangs on about Lilith and uses the image as some kind of archetype to punish women. I'm sure he will find the information useful

Jehovah Jesus
by hooberus in1 corinthians 8:6 yet to us there is one god, the father, of whom are all things, and we unto him; and one lord, jesus christ, through whom are all things, and we through him.. .
isaiah 44:24 thus saith jehovah, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb: i am jehovah, that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth (who is with me?);.
isaiah 40:10 behold, the lord jehovah will come as a mighty one, and his arm will rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him.. .

Make a tea? How much do I need for that?
Depends on the strength of the weed.
I used to use double zero (strong resin/solid) and used hmmm .... maybe just under a CM squared. Heated it up with a flame to crumble it and then added boiling water and stirred. Added honey to taste. The effect kicked in after 1 hour and slowly built up.
If you use skunk, just use maybe twice the amount that you use for a roll up and pop it in boiling water and stir. Make sure you consume all of the plant + water. Should have about the same effect.
It's pretty hit and miss taking it this way.
It's worth a shot as a temporary fix to the pain you suffer.

I was one of the few (very few) who refused to do talks. It just didn't sit right with me. Why should I?
